This is becoming more and more common and a few of our clients are falling foul to these scams.
HMRC will never send you an email or text message containing personal information to you such as a refund of tax.
The genuine messages will ask you to log into your personal self assessment account online to see the message relating to your personal tax affairs.
If in doubt contact us in the first instance for reassurance.
Please do not hand over your bank details or credit card details to reclaim the "refund" that's promised to you.
